Are your products all natural? TOP

"ALL" my products are created with only natures best. Only natural oils, butters, botanicals, and high quality essential oils.  Most of my soaps are vegan and all are completely cruelty free. However please note that a few of my products have added ingredients that are synthetic*. These are generally body safe fragrance oils and phthalate-free. So be sure you read carefully before you purchase your products. I will always note if not completely natural.

With that said, I do make products that will include fragrances and pigments that are often made with natural items but not completely all natural. These products are about generally about 94-97% all natural. They are not only wonderful but often capture scents or colors nature cannot.

What kind of soap do you make? TOP

I mainly create cold-process soap (CP). Cold-process soap is a generally preferred soap to purchase, as it not only makes a nice hard bar but it is also much lovelier in appearance. It's my favorite too!

However I now also make liquid soap and occationally hot process soap
, from scracth of course!

How is CP Soap made? TOP

All CP is made with lye (Sodium hydroxide), as most soap has been made for many many many centuries now. Why do I bring this up? I bring this up cause I have heard many people countless times saying they want an all natural soap and lye in soap just can't be natural soap.

So to clear the air I just wanted to say that just isn't true. An old soapers saying is No Lye=No Soap! All soap is made with lye. Commercial, homemade, and even craft store melt n' pour soap (which generally have several undesirable additives).

Worried about how that chemical will react to your skin? Well fret not my dear friends! When soap is made correctly, soap goes through a process that neutralizes the lye ( it completely disappears!) leaving only the desirable ingredients that make the fantastic soap we all know and love. Plus another benefit (among MANY) in buying homemade soap is your soap is naturally high in glycerin!

What is Glycerin? Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it attracts moisture to your skin. Glycerin is a natural by-product of the soapmaking process and while commercial manufacturers remove the glycerin from their soap for use in their more profitable lotions and creams, handcrafted soap retains glycerin in each and every bar.

How long do your products last? TOP

Typically my products have a shelf life of about a year or more. And are recommended to be used within a year from time of purchase.

Product Care:

Soaps: Several of my soaps contain botanicals, butters and oils. It is suggested that soap be used within approximately a year. To encourage the longest soap life it's best to keep them away from water when not being used, on a well-drained soap dish and allow to dry in between uses. If left sitting in water or in a direct stream of water, the lifespan of the bar will be shortened.

Salts and Sugar Scrubs:
These should be kept in a cool dry place. If left in the sun or direct heat it is possible that it can start to separate. When using it's best to mix well (if required) and always use a clean and dry spoon to scoop out desired amount each use. Avoid getting "unused" salts and sugars wet. Water and dirty hands can cause these to go rancid and grow bacteria quickly, thus shortening the life of your scrub. Use within a 6 month -1 year.

Lip Gloss and Chapstick: Keep out of sun or direct heat for any prolonged amounts of time as this can cause melting and possible leaking, or create a grany texture. We recommend using these products within a 6 months - a year from purchase date.

Lotions and Creams: It's best to always store in a cool place out of direct heat. Although most of my lotions and creams require a very mild preservative (anything with water must have a preservative to properly protect against harmful bacteria), I still recommend always using a clean dry spoon or clean hands to remove desired amount each use. Keep away from water and again, we recommend using within approximately 6 mo to a year. (Depending on your care)

As always with any product, toss is it begins to smell or grow bacteria! This has never happened to my products but I say this as an added precaution.

Variety in Products:

I will always do my VERY best to keep my recipes as close to the last made batch (unless improved) as possible. But with that said, I cannot guarantee that your product will be COMPLETELY the same as the last. It is, after all, homemade. Colors, textures, and scents may slightly vary from batch to batch. I will always include an ingredient list and description of each product. Please read carefully before purchasing and be aware of any ingredients ahead of time that may cause allergic reactions.

Allergies: CAUTION: If you have any allergies, please make sure to read all the ingredients used in each product. Some oils are derived from nuts and should be avoided by those with severe nut allergies. If you are pregnant or nursing use with caution and consult with a doctor if unsure about certain ingredients (such as peppermint oil). The same should be considered if you are concerned with infants and young children (eucalyptus & wintergreen are some oils you should avoid with young children). If you are unsure about any product, please contact your health care provider for more information. If a rash or irritation occurs, DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY. (If you are allergic to a certain essential oil and are concerned about it being in your soap or about anything, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I’d be happy to share my fragrance blends when requested.)I make no medical or therapeutic claims about my products. My products are all natural and as a result they will expire more quickly than commercial products. If any of your products begin to smell bad, expire, or begin to show growth, discard immediately! I have never had my products go bad before the dates I've stated but I feel I should state this. Information on the qualities of certain oils and other ingredients are based upon information obtained from suppliers, industry data, and from other experienced and knowledgeable soap crafters. Again if you have any questions about a particular product or ingredient, feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to explain.

Final Note:

Note: I am a very descriptive person and would like to note that after cutting my soap I have them dried with a paper towel above and below them to protect from any everyday passing dust. After rotating soaps sometimes a piece of fuzz from the paper towels is left. Do don’t be alarmed! Also I have a paint brush specifically used for dusting soap crumbles (caused by cutting) and for dusting mica on top of some soaps. Again don’t be alarmed it’s not animal hairs or anything gross. I work on all my products in an animal free zone! I also add cotton balls (with the same scent used in each soap) to the boxes the soaps are enclosed in after drying to ensure a fresh scent, whether your enjoying it two weeks after cutting or 6 months! This isn't a complaint I have ever had from anyone but all the same I want to share that with you. So although I do my best to deliver the most flawless soap possible sometimes cotton and paper towels fuzzies get past me and for that I apologize.
